Continued strong Diamond Jubilee demand resulting in further worldwide sell-outs

A spirit of celebration swept the length and breadth of the British Isles in early June as the nation celebrated Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee, with grand events like the Thames River Pageant and Carriage Procession being watched by millions.

Despite these major spectacular events now being over two months behind us, the Diamond Jubilee is clearly still enthralling the numismatic markets as sell-outs continue to be announced by world mints.

This comes even as the nation’s and indeed the world’s attention is drawn to the London 2012 Olympic Games that are now in full swing.

Just recently the Royal Canadian Mint revealed that they had completely sold out of their beautiful 2012 Diamond Jubilee ‘High-Relief’ $50 Gold Proof Coin, swiftly followed by the Perth Mint of Australia who announced a complete sell-out of their 2012 Diamond Jubilee 1/4oz Gold Proof Coin.

These two more recent announcements of course follow a raft of Diamond Jubilee numismatic sell-outs that have occurred since the beginning of the year.  With demand clearly still so strong, the window of opportunity for collectors to own a prestigious Diamond Jubilee piece appears to be rapidly narrowing.

Nevertheless, those fortunate enough to already own one of these now rare coins can look forward to them commanding a worthy numismatic premium in the years to come.
