At the tail end of 2012 we reported on a raft of sell-outs from the United States Mint and from the Royal Canadian Mint. However, attention should also be focused on the Perth Mint, where massive demand for its issues has also been experienced in recent months.
One such issue is the 2012 High Relief Silver Proof Four Coin Collection, which has just recently sold out of its entire edition limit of just 1,000.
This prestigious set contains four of the Perth Mint’s iconic 2012 Australian silver coins – the Kangaroo, the Koala, the Kookaburra and the Lunar Dragon.
As well as being minted to a Proof quality in 99.9% Pure Silver, the reverse of each coin has been struck in magnificent High-Relief.
These two stand out features, alongside the impressive designs and, even more importantly, the low edition limit, has clearly struck a chord with collectors and contributed hugely to the sell-out.
In fact, this is just one example of the continued international demand being experienced by the Perth Mint for its precious metal Australian issues. In the course of the second half of 2012 a number of other sell-outs have been achieved – such as for the 2012 Diamond Jubilee 1/4oz Gold Coin and the 2012 Year of the Snake 1oz Silver Bullion Coin.
With such levels of popularity, it will certainly pay to keep a keen eye on new limited edition issues emanating from the Perth Mint in 2013.
