The Royal Proclamation details a range of limited edition coin specifications including a 50p and a £5 coin, a Sovereign range, and ounces. The launch date is yet to be confirmed, but with the Coronation less than two months away, the release date is expected soon. Huge demand from collectors nationwide is guaranteed.

Importantly, it has also been confirmed that the Sovereign range will feature the classic St. George & the Dragon design. This will be the first King Charles III sovereign with this reverse, and it’s anticipated that collectors will want to pair this with their 2022 dated Memorial Sovereign.

New commemorative designs

The official announcement from the King has also confirmed that all the 2023 dated coins will feature new designs to mark the coronation.

Both the 50p and £5 coins will feature the official Cypher of King Charles III alongside text stating “THE CORONATION OF KING CHARLES III 6th MAY 2023” marking this important moment for our nation.

Unprecedented demand expected

This is a hugely significant issue and there is likely to be demand reminiscent of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee coins issued last year. Multiple 24-hour sell-outs were seen across £5 and 50p specifications and tens of thousands of collectors queued online. Many were left disappointed -sign up now to make sure you don’t miss out on this opportunity.
